Tanaka Works Colt' Single Action Army (S.A.A.) 2nd Generation 5-1/2 inch Pegasus II Series - Black
Anyone who knows anything about pistols knows what a Colt Single Action Army 45 is. And if you don't, think classic Western revolver or tag on the name 'Peacemaker'.
Unlike other versions on the market, I personally have a lot of knowledge on the Tanaka model having owned one for many years and skirmished with it too ( yes, in full cowboy outfit with gunslinger holster, Winchester, the works :D ). So even if you have no idea who Tanaka Works are, trust me when I say this is the ultimate available in these 99.9% replica revolvers: the feel, look and even the sound of the mechanism working is so authentic, the only thing closer is a real one.
So what makes this one so special? Well, Tanaka in Japan have for years been doing more repairs to these pistols than any other and the reason? The thriving Western scene where Quick Draw and Sharp Shooting competitions are the norm. They took all the feedback they received plus the experience gained from doing these repairs to produce this Pegasus II version. It's more robust, reliable and designed to be even closer to the real thing!
For us airsofters, we want magazine capacity and range:
- They added their stock 6 + 9 round internal ammo system to the cylinder and have converted the old 'magazine' feed system to hold an additional 10 rounds which can be loaded quickly when you run out for a total of 25 rounds held in the revolver!
- An adjustable hop system has been added which is adjusted by pulling back the hammer to access the small grub screw just below the top of the frame. It's not the easiest of places to design in hop system but Tanaka did so to make it 'invisible' and keep it from spoiling the real-steel look.
For that completely authentic feel, there is a completely re-designed cylinder and base pin, allowing the cylinder to be removed just as the real one and the hammer has been re-designed (along with the gas striker in the cylinder) giving the hammer the correct profile too!
Internally, there have been a number of upgraded parts to help cushion the system internally and ensure long-term reliability. Quite frankly, this is the best looking and most upgraded revolver version that Tanaka has undertaken.
