HPA MAINTAINANCE

HPA MAINTAINANCE

If you run HPA in airsoft, looking after your tank is essential for both performance and safety.

A well-maintained tank will give you more consistent pressure, better reliability, and a longer lifespan.

Most HPA tanks should be visually inspected regularly for dents, deep scratches, cracks, or damage to the regulator. Carbon fibre tanks especially should never be used if the outer shell is damaged.

Always check the hydro date stamped on the bottle — once out of test, the tank should not be filled until it has been re-certified.

Keep the fill nipple clean and covered when not in use.

Dirt or moisture getting into the regulator can cause leaks or regulator failure over time.

If your tank gets wet or muddy during a game day, wipe it down before storage and avoid leaving it in damp gear bags.

When filling your tank, always use a reputable air source and never exceed the bottle’s rated pressure.

Slow fills are generally better for both the tank and regulator. Rapid fills can create heat and unnecessary stress on components.

Storage matters too. Avoid leaving HPA tanks in direct sunlight, hot cars, or freezing conditions for long periods.

Store them somewhere cool and dry with a small amount of air left in the bottle to help keep seals seated correctly.

Finally, if you notice leaks, pressure creep, damaged threads, or inconsistent output pressure, stop using the tank and have it inspected by a qualified technician.

A little maintenance goes a long way in keeping your HPA setup safe, reliable, and game-ready.
